5th international potter festival in Skopina
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
From 14 to 18 August 2013 in the pottery center Skopina (district Ryazan / Russia) was organized the fifth International potters festival. In this festival take part 250 participants from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Austria, Romania, Poland and Sweden. This year Latvia was represented by two Daugavpils ceramics, Ilona Sausa and Nellija Dzalba . Both artists in tender program has won awards in several nominations. This creative journey to Skopina for both of Latvian representatives was supported by the State Cultural Fund.
The festival's creative activities and this year were varied:
- International Festival participants exhibition "Pottery" disclosure,. artist Nikolaj Podrezov (St. Petersburg) personal exhibition disclosure, exhibition of children ceramic
- Competition program;
- Pottery workshops, paper and old traditional kiln hatred;
- The unique ancient pottery products form demonstration;
- Seminar "Traditional and innovative in contemporary traditional ceramics";
- Ceramic Fair
During the festival was able to get to know other craftsmen working styles and techniques, the various nationalional traditional ceramic samples of diferent cultures, exchange the experience to perform specific tasks. Finally, Skopina Ceramic Museum was donated art work made in fermented ceramic technique made by work group. During measure suppression ceramic I. Sausa got diplomas for successful participation in the competition program and Skopina municipal award for high-quality artistic performances and permanent participation in the festival . Ceramic N. Dzalba was avarded by Diploma for the most successful form solution.
During the festival was renewed contacts with fellow potters, art scholars, as well as the establishment of a new contacts with the Moscow Kuskovo ceramic museum representatives, who were really interested in cooperating with Daugavpils Regional and Art Museum and Daugavpils Clay Centre. As well as were received invitations to participate in 2014 in the ceramic plain air in Oposna (Ukraine ) and in a number of similar events elsewhere. The last day of the creative journey was spent in Moscow, visiting the pottery workshops .
